چکیده

Background Drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS) is a rare but severe cutaneous drug adverse reaction (SCAR) with a not well known pathogenesis. Strong genetic associations between HLA groups and drug allergy have been reported but seem to be specific for a type of SCAR, one drug and an ethnic group. Using a pangenomic approach, effective even on a small effective, by an innovating method, the Comparative Genomic Hybridization (CGH) technique the objective of this study was to determine whether some copy number variations (CNV) were associated with the occurrence of DRESS while studying only well-defined DRESS patients.

New Insights into Drug Reaction with Eosinophilia and Systemic Symptoms Pathophysiology

Drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS), also known as drug-induced hypersensitivity syndrome, is a severe type of cutaneous drug-induced eruption. DRESS may be a difficult disease to diagnose since the symptoms mimic those of cutaneous and systemic infectious pathologies and can appear up to 3 months after the initial culprit drug exposure. The symptoms of DRESS syndrome ...

Systemic hypersensitivity reaction to Omnipaque radiocontrast medium: a case of mini‐DRESS

Drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS) is a delayed drug reaction defined by physical signs and laboratory parameters. Mini-DRESS is a new entity, in cases that display some but not all features of DRESS. Cases of mini-DRESS have a less protracted course, and respond well to systemic corticosteroid treatment.
